The Bat Skaler turning into a vampire bat Contrary to popular convention, Skaler and Mariah do not conform to the usual rule when obliged to change into a bat.  The usual half-human, half-bat combination, the size of a hang-glider and all fangs and leathery wings, usually means that a vampire is very conspicuous to any elderly Professors' carrying stakes and a Bible.  Becoming a small bat is not only much less conspicuous, but you can also sneak into nightclubs without paying.
