Influences

F W Murnau's films Nosferatu and Faust had a huge influence on Glenn's work, the great director of the German Expressionist Cinema of the 1920’s and 30's.

Even more so the Universal Horror movies, particularly James Whale's Frankenstein films and of course the more recent Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula.

The accessibility of the Pre Raphaelite paintings in Birmingham Museum was another massive factor.

In trying to create something new, by combining the influence the work of artists like Daniel Gabriel Rossetti and Burne-Jones with the cinematography of Murnau and Whale, he gradually developed a style for his Skaler drawings which he calls Pre Raphaelie Goth.
