Beginnings and Style I'm told I draw like a painter, if you can excuse such a contradiction in terms. I started out working with Acrylic or Gauche, but I was aiming for a look which might seem almost etched, like Beardsley or the grainy black and white of the early horror films, so I started experimenting with ink.  I'm lucky in that because I am dyslexic, when I have an idea for a drawing I can see it in my mind, and work almost as if from a slide.
