The Bear-Wolf

Illustration for Ghosts, Murders and Scandals by Anne Bradford

If there was an English Bigfoot, this incident at Woodrow Pool near Hanbury would be a good sighting.  It's un-unnervingly hard to explain...  Except in that it was a clear night with a very prominent full moon, so perhaps it wasn't an English Yeti after all.  Perhaps it was something else.

Two fishermen were out late when they saw something appear at the other end of the lake, bending down to drink the water.  This scared them straight away, because the bank was too steep for a human to do this.  When it stood up, it looked so like a bear that they ran for their lives!

Glenn tried to capture a watchfulness, and semi-human agility.  It's not a comforting sketch to view alongside the actual story.
