Alcester Galleries

Midlands Art Dealers, Kings Heath, Birmingham, July - September 1993

Located at a prominent site on the main route into Birmingham, this large corner Gallery was the first professional establishment Glenn approached with his work on leaving University in 1993.

On graduating he was very much a fine artist.  Although beginning to experiment more with his drawing style, he had primarily been trained as a painter, and in print techniques.

The Gallery displayed his A1 Portrait of Groucho and Chico Marx, painted in sepia acrylics, as a prominent window display feature, and it was a focus of enormous attention.  Although the Hippodrome Theatre expressed an interest in the work, it was sold to a private individual during the autumn of 1993 and remains Glenn's first Gallery work.
